Color came to be used in a symbolic way as well, defining rites of passage and helping fulfill a spiritual need. It was only as recently as the Renaissance that people began using color solely for aesthetic purposes.

Sometimes referred to as “color psychology,” using color has a profound impact on our psychological and physiological conditions. It’s interesting to experience the colors and combinations of colors that elicit an emotional response, a real feeling of, “AHA!,” or “…that makes me feel so excited… peaceful… powerful…like smiling,” etc.
